Dr. William S. El Masri, M.B., CH.B., FRCS©, ABO

Qualifications: Assistant Professor, University of Toronto Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Facial Cosmetic Surgery with Special interest & expertise in Otology, Thyroid Surgery, Cosmetic Rhinoplasty and Sinus Surgery.
Current Position: On staff at Toronto East General Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital.
Previous Position: Chief of Department of Otolaryngology at Toronto East General Hospital.

Dr. Sharon Morong MD MSC FRCSC

Dr. Sharon Morong, an Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgeon (ENT), is a valuable member of the team at Thornhill Hearing and Balance Centre.
Qualifications: Dr. Morong received her Doctor of Medicine and Master of Science degrees, and completed her residency in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto. She also has international expertise in sinus and sleep disorders, and is fellowship trained in Rhinology, Sleep Medicine and Sleep Surgery, with research publications and book chapters in these fields.

Mohsen Rafieian, Registered Physiotherapist

Mohsen is a registered physiotherapist with over 20 years of experience in different areas of practice. He had his training in Vestibular Rehabilitation in The Scarborough Hospital in 2012. Since then, Mohsen has been associated with Hearing and Balance centers for assessing and treating clients who have vestibular and balance concerns. He also works as director/physiotherapist at Maya Physio & Health Inc. Located in Richmond Hill.

Nasser Akbarloo, Clinical Audiologist MSc CASLPO & CSHHPBC Registered

Nasser is an experienced audiologist in the field of audiology. He has worked in a diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology setting and as a university instructor and research audiologist with the Cochlear Implant team for more than 16 years. He has dispensed and verified hearing aids, performed aural rehabilitation and provided counselling.
His expertise in electrophysiological tests such as ECochG, ABR, ASSR, OAE, ENG/VNG, VAT, and VEMP have made him a valuable member of our team. His areas of interest are auditory processing, speech perception and hearing aids. He has worked at the Scarborough General Hospital Clinic since 2011 and now is a full time audiology service provider at Thornhill Hearing and Balance Centre.

Dr. Hany Guirgis, MD. FRCSC.

Qualifications: Fellow of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada, division of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery since 1985 with training in both Canadian and American centers.
Sleep Physician, trained at the School of Sleep Medicine, Palo Alto California.

Dr. Nitin Chauhan, MD FRCSC

Dr. Chauhan’s main cosmetic interests include rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation surgery, cosmetic injectables, and advanced laser skin treatments. His medical interests include functional nasal issues, skin cancer, acne and scar revision. Dr. Chauhan has authored more than 30 medical publications and book chapters. He has presented at numerous national and international conferences and events. He has also been interviewed by multiple newspapers, radio channels and television networks, including CBS, Fox News, Time Magazine and BusinessWeek. He has received numerous academic, research, leadership and volunteer awards.

Dr. Ashlin Alexander, MD FRCSC

In 2011, Dr. Alexander completed training in Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery (ENT) at the University of Toronto. During residency, he was fortunate to receive numerous awards for academic excellence and dedication to patient care, achieved national recognition for his research pursuits, published in international journals, and was elected Chief Resident. After completing residency, Dr. Alexander was selected for the prestigious fellowship program in Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at New York University (Manhattan). He subsequently pursued a second fellowship in Head & Neck Oncology at the Sydney Head and Neck Cancer Institute (Australia). Now back at home, Dr. Alexander is excited to serve the patients of the GTA. Along with treating all aspects of Otolaryngology—HNS, he has a particular interest in the full gamut of facial cosmetic surgery.

Maggie Belcourt, HID, HIS- Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist

Since 2011 Maggie has been attentively caring for individuals troubled by hearing loss. She earned her advance diploma with honours’ from George Brown College in Toronto. Maggie is registered with the Ontario chapter of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners (AHIP). She is also registered as a Hearing Aid Authorizer and Dispenser with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Assistive Devices Program.
Maggie recognizes the seriousness of a hearing impairment and understands how it can, if not treated, negatively impact the lifestyle of the individual affected as well as lives of the ones they love. She is a specialist in the detection of an individual’s hearing loss and carefully determines the most suitable solution to effectively correct the problem. Maggie does her utmost to educate and counsel individuals on a one-to-one basis in order to improve hearing and communication abilities for each and every one of her clients.

Kathy Jackson

At Midland Hearing Centre, Kathy Jackson is our Office Manager and the face of our Public Relations in the local community. She brings with her over 30 years of medical background and experience, most recently as an instructor of the Medical Office Administration program. Kathy also wears hearing aids, so she can fully empathize with the entire experience of managing hearing loss. Her friendly, outgoing personality makes the entire process simple and accommodating.

Sebastian Boulerice is a licensed Audiologist and a registered member of CASLPO. He received his Master’s degree in Audiology from University of Montreal. Sebastian speaks English, French, German and Italian. During his studies, he has served as a research assistant in electrophysiology at University of Montreal. His interests include electrophysiological evaluation, vestibular evaluation and cochlear implantation.
